Alight at the Kek Lok Si Temple bus stop on Jalan Balik Pulau. The temple entrance is a short, uphill walk through a bustling market area, approximately 5-10 minutes.
From George Town city centre, take Jalan Air Itam (Route 207) directly to Air Itam. Follow signs for Kek Lok Si Temple. The drive is approximately 20-30 minutes depending on traffic.
On-site parking is available at the base of the temple complex. There are multiple paid parking lots (private and temple-run) with rates typically around RM3-RM5 per entry for cars. Availability can be limited during peak seasons and public holidays.
From George Town (city centre): 20-30 mins by car/taxi, 45-60 mins by bus. From Penang International Airport: 45-60 mins by car/taxi.
Visit in the early morning to avoid crowds and the midday heat. Wear comfortable shoes as there's a fair amount of walking and stairs. Bring a hat and water. Modest dress is recommended out of respect for the religious site.
