Detailed directions and travel information
No public transport available directly to the jetty. Malacca City itself has limited public transport options.
From the heart of Malacca City (e.g., Dutch Square/Red Square), head towards Jalan Laksamana and follow signs for the Malacca River Cruise. The main jetty is located near Quayside Heritage Centre. The drive is very short, typically 5-10 minutes depending on traffic.
No on-site parking at the main jetty. Use nearby paid parking lots such as the multi-storey car park at Dataran Pahlawan Melaka Megamall (approx. RM3-5 per entry) or open-air lots around the Stadthuys area (approx. RM2-4 per hour). Availability can be challenging during peak hours and weekends.
From Dutch Square (Stadthuys): 5-10 mins walk or 2-3 mins drive. From Melaka Sentral: 15-20 mins drive (approx. 6-7 km).
Visit in the late afternoon or early evening to experience both daylight and illuminated night views. Purchase tickets online in advance or at the jetty to avoid queues, especially on weekends and public holidays. Bring a light jacket if cruising in the evening as it can get breezy on the water.
