LRT Kelana Jaya Line to Masjid Jamek Station, or MRT Kajang Line to Pasar Seni Station.
From Masjid Jamek LRT Station: Exit towards Jalan Tun Perak, walk west along Jalan Tun Perak for about 5-7 minutes until you reach the intersection with Jalan Raja. Merdeka Square will be on your right. From Pasar Seni MRT Station: Exit towards Central Market, cross the Klang River via the pedestrian bridge, and walk north along Jalan Tun H.S. Lee, then turn left onto Jalan Raja. The square is about a 10-12 minute walk.
From KLCC: Head west on Jalan Ampang, turn left onto Jalan Tun Perak, then continue straight until you see Merdeka Square on your right. From KL Sentral: Head north on Jalan Tun Sambanthan, turn right onto Jalan Kinabalu, then take the exit towards Jalan Raja. Drive time is approximately 15-20 minutes depending on traffic.
No on-site parking. Use nearby paid parking lots such as those at Dataran Underground (RM 5 for the first hour, RM 3 for subsequent hours) or along Jalan Raja (limited street parking, typically RM 2-3 per hour via parking apps).
From KL Sentral: 25-30 mins by LRT (via Masjid Jamek), 15-20 mins by car. From KLCC: 20-25 mins by LRT (via Masjid Jamek), 15-20 mins by car.
Visit in the late afternoon or early evening to avoid the heat and to see the buildings beautifully lit up. Bring a hat, water, and comfortable walking shoes. Entry is free, and there are often cultural events or markets on weekends.
